Impressions
“I decided to work with “Valeri Dimchev Trio”, because I heard
something that transcended regionalism. Along with the obvious
stunning musicianship, their music seamlessly incorporates traditional
Bulgarian folk music with jazz improvisation and incredible amount of
blues. By utilizing all the above elements they are definitely taking it “to
the next level”. (Vadim Budman, Volatile Records, Canada)
The strongest elements in their music are the characteristic
sounds of the tamboura and the tarambouka mixed with the incredible
female voice of the beautiful Desislava Dimcheva (Rainforest World
Music Festival Malaysia 2004)
“Dimchev, though is a progressive; some of the tunes of his
recital were closer to jazz than to tradition. The tamboura is a string
instrument with a teardrop body and a long neck, and, in Dimchev’s
hands, is capable of great subtlety. (Ed Ward Wall Street Journal)
This group is incredible – the music will stop you in your tracks.
“Valeri Dimchev Trio”, coming from “Old Europe”. Not to be missed.
